The Department of Art and Art History’s First Generation Conversation is an informal panel discussion to create dialogue between faculty and students, foster community, and provide a place to support students who are the first people in their family to attend college.

Mark Dineen, Assistant Professor of Sculpture, Gary Huibregtse, Professor of Photo Image Making, and David Riep, Associate Professor of Art History will talk about their experiences as first-generation students in the arts and answer questions from current students. Alanis Hernandez, this year’s First Generation Spotlight Award Winner, will also be present. Catherine DiCesare, Associate Professor of Art History, will moderate the panel. Anyone is welcome to attend!
