Congrats to Johnny Plastini, Associate Professor of Printmaking, whose solo exhibition at BOLT Gallery in Old Town, Fort Collins opens next week. The show features a collection of eight Eco-UV prints on handmade paper and seven solar cyanotypes at BOLT gallery for the month of May with a reception on May 7th. BOLT gallery is a relatively new volunteer-based project located in an inclusive community-based multi-purpose space alongside Every Day Joe’s coffee house, Timberline Old Town Church, and an up-and-coming concert venue.
Johnny Plastini is also a contributor to Enduring Impressions: Degas, Monet, Pissarro, and their Printmaker George William Thornley at the Longmont Museum (400 Quail Road; open Tues – Sat, 9a – 3p). The exhibition showcases original paintings, charcoal drawings, and prints from the collection of Drs. Morton and Tobia Mower. As lithography can be somewhat esoteric to some, Johnny was asked to develop a historical display for this exhibition which outlines and describes how many of the prints in the exhibition were produced.
