Colorado State University’s Department of Art and Art History is honored to welcome internationally acclaimed artist Ann Hamilton as the 2025–26 guest of the Scott Artist Series. Hamilton, celebrated for her large-scale multimedia installations, public projects, and performance collaborations, will be on campus February 9–10, 2026 for a series of events designed to engage students, faculty, and the broader Fort Collins community.

The centerpiece of Hamilton’s visit is a public lecture on Monday, February 9 at 5:00 p.m. in the Griffin Concert Hall at the University Center for the Arts. The lecture is free and open to the public. To register, click here.

Hamilton’s work has been exhibited at major institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, The Hirshhorn Museum, and Tate Modern. Her many honors include the MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, Heinz Award, and the National Medal of the Arts. Since 2001, she has served as a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Art at The Ohio State University.

During her CSU residency, Hamilton will participate in conversations at the Morgan Library and meet with undergraduate classes in the Department of Art and Art History. These engagements will invite students into dialogue around the roles of material practice, haptic knowledge, performance, and the poetic dimensions of contemporary art.

The Scott Artist Series supports the exchange of ideas among artists from diverse disciplines and backgrounds, bringing influential voices to CSU to broaden creative and intellectual horizons. Hamilton’s visit continues this legacy, offering an exceptional opportunity for our community to learn from one of the most significant artists working today.

Hamilton’s recent projects include We Will Sing, a collaborative public installation centered on collective voice and community participation, and Mothers of Invention, a Critical Dialogue conversation at Anderson Ranch exploring creativity across art and life.

This visit is co-sponsored by the Department of Art & Art History, Clara Hatton Gallery, Gregory Allicar Museum of Art, Morgan Library, and the Lilla B. Morgan Memorial Endowment, whose support helps cultivate a vibrant cultural landscape at Colorado State University.
