Meet alumni Christopher “CJ” Jewell. CJ graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Graphic Design. He works as a digital designer at PRZM Studio, a full-service creative agency he co-founded. PRZM Studio has worked with ambitious brands of all sizes to redefine their digital identity and drive growth. CJ designs logos, websites, application prototypes, advertisements, and anything else clients need.

CJ’s time in the art program instilled the core design principles he uses daily, such as grids, composition, hierarchy, balance, negative space, color theory, and industry terminology. Long studio nights sharpened his discipline and attention to detail, while professors like Maggie Adams and John Metcalf sparked his lasting passion for typography. That passion now informs every digital interface and brand asset he creates.

Each assignment became an opportunity to master new tools and hone creative problem-solving skills, lessons that continue to shape his client’s work. Even classroom critiques, where he learned to exchange thoughtful feedback, mirror the structure of his current team meetings. CJ considers his professors his first clients and wouldn’t be where he is today without them and the Art Department.
