Elnaz Javani’s installation My Effigies is included in the exhibition ART IRAN: Falling into Language, on view from January 28 – May 5 at Craft Contemporary in Los Angeles, CA. The exhibition presents nine diaspora Iranian artists who engage diverse forms of the Persian alphabet, handwriting, text, and fragments to remain connected to their cultural inheritance as an essential part of their artistic practice.

Javani was a resident artist at the Oxbow of School of Art, where she conducted a workshop on textile printing and delivered an artist talk. The workshop examined a range of traditional and contemporary approaches to surface design and mark making on fabric.
