Colorado State University is honored to welcome internationally acclaimed visual artist Ann Hamilton as the 2026 Scott Artist.
Hamilton is celebrated for her large-scale multimedia installations, public projects, and performance collaborations that explore the relationships between material, space, and human presence. Her work has been exhibited at institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, The Hirshhorn Museum, and Tate Modern, among many others. She is the recipient of both Guggenheim and MacArthur “Genius” Fellowships, recognizing her profound contributions to contemporary art and culture.
During her two-day visit to CSU, Hamilton will engage with students and faculty across multiple departments and colleges, sharing insights from her decades-long practice of creating immersive, ephemeral environments and site-responsive installations. In addition to her public lecture at the Organ Recital Hall, Hamilton will participate in programs at the Morgan Library and within the Department of Art and Art History to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and creative exploration.
This visit represents an opportunity for the CSU community and the public to learn from one of the most significant voices in contemporary art. Hamilton’s work invites us to consider how art can shape our collective experience of place, memory, and connection.
Please register for the public lecture on Eventbrite (free).
About the Scott Artist Series
The Scott Artist Series supports the exchange of ideas among artists from multiple disciplines, various places, and diverse backgrounds. Through inspirational talks and creative engagements, the series brings distinguished artists and thinkers to the Colorado State University campus to share innovative approaches to art-making and contemporary culture.
Guest artists in the series are influential figures with national and international exposure, whose involvement enriches the CSU community and reinforces the long-term impact that art has on society. By connecting students, faculty, and the public with leading voices in the arts, the Scott Artist Series expands creative horizons and encourages critical dialogue about the power of artistic practice.
