Karla Kracht is a German multidisciplinary artist, best known for her bizarre figures. She employs these in drawing, animation, painting, video, and small sculptures to characterize contemporary society and to propose speculative futures. The figures are the component elements for her installations and performances in which she mixes genres, techniques, and technologies. www.karlakracht.com

The Live Cinema workshop is designed for students to acquire the necessary digital and analog techniques and technologies to start creating their own Live Cinema works and facilitating a posterior personal artistic research within this huge and volatile world of live video creation. With the use of miniature models, objects live drawing, we move away from the exclusive use of computers and stimulate the creativity of each participant. We will discuss multiple possibilities of live video creation, joining the physical and digital world via cameras. We will talk about and experience processes, concepts, and techniques to create a video performance from the first idea to the final realization. The workshops are mainly practice-oriented, the theory — which will also be included — will be learned as we deepen into the different exercises.
