New Class this Fall : “Art and Environment”

Art and Environment is a new course that will be open for Fall 2017!

Throughout the course, you will be investigating three course topics during which there will be 2+ field trips each. In addition to the studio and seminar portion, you will be able to work with renown environmental artist David Brooks on a project that will be exhibited at the Gregory Allicar Museum in the fall. Here are some of the other guests that you would be going out into the field with:

NoCo Astro – Astronomers : to study the heavens (Semi-Arid Grasslands Research Center, Nunn)

Dr. Lincoln Bramwell – Chief Historian for the US Forest Service : to talk about Wilderburbs and the urban-wildlands interface (Rist Canyon, High Park Fire)

Dr. Joe Stevens – Ecologist : to look closely at the micro and macro of wilderness botany (Lory State Park)

Shane Davis – Fracking Activist : to tour us around drilling operations in the vicinity (Weld County)

Brad Rhona -Harvest Farm : to look at permaculture from the perspective of ecology and society (Harvest Farm, Wellington)

Dr. Jennifer Barfield – genetist : to look at reintroduction of genetically pure bison to Soapstone Prairie (Soapstone Prairie)
