The MFA Painting Program at CSU is a contemporary painting program that encourages an intensive studio practice, experimentation, risk taking and an understanding of contemporary and historic art theory and trends. With a maximum of seven graduate students in the painting area, students work closely with the faculty and their peers in a community that fosters the highest level of creative growth.
Graduate students in the Painting area have generously sized, semi-private studio spaces. In addition to the studios, graduate students have access to much of the department’s state-of-the-art facilities, including several exhibition galleries, a digital fabrication lab, a well equipped wood shop and two computer labs.
